Jess 3 - Settling In

Jezabel Jess Star Of The East

2 - Early Days

Hello, It’s Jess again, and I am going to tell you about a few more things that happened since I last wrote to you. I found I had a new Nanny who came to visit me. She and Linda went shopping and when they came back there was a toy for me.

1. Me with my first toy. Uncle Kiss is sitting beside me.

It was so comforting. Leo was still letting me chase him around the garden. In the evening, we were playing and I bit Leo’s tail, and I think I hurt him just a little bit. He was really nice and just barked at me to stop, and then jumped on to the back of the sofa like my daddy, Scooby, does. Leo has forgiven me, I think he

3. Buster meeting Bonnie for the first time when she was just 3 days old.

4. Me having a walk on the nice soft grass. But if you look carefully, you can see Leo keeping an eye on me.

5. Me trying to brush the lawn. I don’t think I did much good though.

remembers how he was at my age, and is taking even more care of me.

On Friday, Leo and me played in the garden. I know he has been used to being the only dog in the house, and that my arrival is going to change things a lot.

Leo says that he has heard Linda and Kiss talking about two other dogs that lived here before us. He says that they were called Buster and Bonnie, and were Yorkshire Terriers. Buster arrived first.   Bonnie arrived as a very little puppy, only a few days old as she had been orphaned when she was born. Buster used to take very good care of her.

I think Leo is trying to live up to Buster’s image. He feels their spirits are guiding him. Chris and Linda think the same. I also had my first injections against puppy diseases. Leo was due to have his booster shots as well. Without them, it is not safe for us puppies to go outside and meet other dogs as we might become ill, or even die. I had my injection, and Leo kept a really close eye on what was happening. When the vet had finished with me, Leo came and checked that I was all right, which I was apart from feeling slightly tired.

It has been very hot here, and I am spending a lot of time in the garden. I am getting very brave now and even going to the patio at the far end of the garden on my own. It seems a long way, but the grass is nice to walk on.

I’m not sure whether Leo was joking or not, but he said I ought to brush the garden.

I’ve been here a week now, but I’ve been having a lot of fun with Leo and lots of cuddles from Linda. That is all for now, but I

will write to you next week, hopefully with some more pictures. Love Jezabel Jess.
