A Gresley designed LNER type V2. Built between 1936 and 1944 this versatile mixed traffic engine was used for express passenger and fast freight workings. This Bachmann model was bought 2nd hand and has a split chassis. When bought, it didn’t run. When I investigated, I found that it had been converted to run on the Hornby Zero 1 digital system. Although I stil have a master for it, I removed the chip. There was also a problem with the trailing axle which was cured by Aralditing the axle ends to the sleeve. It has not yet been converted to DCC.
