No 1 of a class o 22 locomotives for work on the East Coast Main Line. They replaced 55 Pacifics . Named Deltic after the Napier Triangular engine. They regularly exceeded 100 MpH. They were only in service for about 20 years as the HST came into production and gradually replaced them. I feel sure that I rode behind one of them in may 1982 as there was a Deltic Fenman excursion from Kings Cross to the Nene Valley Railway. I was at the railway when it came in. This model is by Bachmann and is weathered.
