I met Monmique and Gerald as planned. Spent a lovely day with them finishing off by taking Monique shopping. Getting back to the hotel, I couldn’t enter the room. They’d cancelled my booking for the second night of my stay. Theyhad no free rooms as the Tour de France was coming by the following day. Rather fed up, I decided to cut short my holiday and headed for home. I drove through the night, filling up with petrol on the outskirts of Saarbrucken, and getting some oil. The oil cost half as much as a tank of petrol. I reached Dunkirk at about Middady. Mileage 666. Total 2381.
