Day 1 I left at 5 and by 7 AM, I was in the queue for the ferry. Being early, I’d hoped that I might get on the 8 AM sailing. Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be and I had to wait for the 10AM. On the other side of the water, I was on schedule until I reached Brussels. Stopping for a comfort break, I chose the wrong road coming out of the services and got caught in the traffic. Another queue at Liege and I was 3 hours behind. Once I’d cleared that, I made good time reaching the hotel at 8 PM. A quick wash and then a meal by the banks of the Rhine. A distance of 438 Miles.
The hotel just outside Koblenz that I stayed in for the first couple of nights. Unfortunately on the 2nd night I was moved to another room which had a broken bed. A bottle of wine from their own vineyard helped soothe me when I left..
