Day 8 Luzern To Annemasse
Day 8 From Luzern around the Northern coast of the lake and over the Brunig Pass (1008 M, 3307 Ft) Past the lakes of Brienz and Thun to Spiez The Col du Pillon (1506 M, 5072 Ft) to Aigle and up the Rhone Valley to Martigny. Over the Col du Forclas (1150 M, 3373 Ft). From Chamonix then on to Annemasse. I filled up with petrol on the Autoroute near martigny and got a fright. Chf 1.59 / Litre about £1.40 a gallon. While going up the Col Du Pillon, I was being followed by a Porsche Carrera, which overtok me, this was followed by another one, this time with British plates. A couple of miles up the road, they pulled off into a Porsche dealership. That’s the last I’ll see of them, I thought. It wasn’t though.

Day 9 23/06/2017 Annemasse to Basel
Arriving at the hotel, having been baking all day, I get to my room to find the air conditioning going full blast on cold. Was it a relief, or what. Well done to the Comfort Annemasse for that. For my evening meal, I had fillets of perch in aq lemon sauce and chips. Superb. That was at le Papille Restaurant in the compound.
