HOLIDAY 2019 - THURSDAY 19th
This is the longest day’s drive of the trip. From Basel to Swindon. For a change and to cut the journey time, I’m going via Nancy, Reims and Arras, having arranged to catch a much earlier train than usual. And hopefully, I can get on an even earlier one. 643 miles bringing the total so far to 3578 Miles.
This was the longest day’s drive at 641 miles. I was awake at 6, packed and some last minute shopping, I was away at just after 7.30. I filled up the car just before the French border, and then blasted up to Mulhouse, over the last pass of this Grand Tour, the Col Du Bussang, then bypassing Luxembourg, into Belgium then reaching the Channel Tunnel just over 8 hours from leaving Basel. I managed to get on an earlier train and got to Blunsden at 8.30. As I checked in, I got a message to say that the mob were in the bar. Of course I joined them there for a couple of pints. Total mileage 3510.
