Day 7 A rest day from driving. Where I’m staying was not far from the Transport museum (WEBSITE: https://www.verkehrshaus.ch/), so a few hours there followed by a guided tour on a road train around the old town of Luzern. The Re 460 is on the line linking the Transport museum to the main line.
Mount Pilatus, across the lake. Taken from the cocktail veranda of the Hermitage hotel. There are 3 routes up it. 1) walking, 2) a rack railway with a gradient of nearly 50% and 3) an Aerial cable car. As it got dark, I could see the lights of the hotel between the twin summits. I have been up there, but a very long time ago, in 1971.
One of the paddle steamers on its way down to Brunnen from Lucerne.
The world’s first passenger carrying submarine, built in 1964 for the Lausanne Expo.
