I was up at 3 AM and on the road at 4 reaching the tunnel just before 6 and catching the 6.30 train meant I was on the continent at 8. A steady run through France, Belgium, and the Netherlands saw me in Germany by 12. Because I was running so early, I turned off the Autobahn at Koblenz, and did my usual drive up the Rhine Gorge. Although the Sat-nav sent me through the middle of mannheim, I still got to Heidelberg before 5. Just time for a freshen up before a steak. 528 Miles.
